That is one of the main reasons why Donosti airport is so small and it also accounts for its scarce availability of flights and connections with the rest of the cities. The airport runway goes literally into the sea and cannot undergo enlargement to avoid conflicts with France on one side and environmental problems on the other. This, as we have said before, causes the airport to be really small and only suitable for the landing of certain types of aircrafts.<br \/>\nFor this reason, many people opt for getting to San Sebastian from Bilbao, flying to Loiu and then taking a bus which goes directly to San Sebastian downtown.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-get-to-san-sebastian-from-the-airport\">How to get to San Sebastian from the airport<\/h2>\n<p>If you have chosen to fly to San Sebastian, once you are in San Sebastian airport you have three options to get to the city:<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"shuttle-or-taxi\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sansebastian.travel\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/iconos-maps\/taxi.png\" alt=\"Taxi\" width=\"30\" height=\"30\"> Shuttle or Taxi<\/h4>\n<p>Right after exiting the airport facilities, you will find a taxi stand. Taxis can take you to Donosti in 20 minutes and it will cost you around 40 euros.<\/p>\n<p>Also, you can <strong>reserve a shuttle<\/strong>. With this option, you will have a person waiting for you at the airport and you won\u00b4t have to waint.<\/p>\n<p>To reserve a Shuttle we recommended: <strong><a title=\"Shuttle San Sebastian\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mydriver.com\/en#\/home?a=sansebastian_travel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shuttle to San Sebastian<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"bus\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sansebastian.travel\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/iconos-maps\/bus.png\" alt=\"Bus\" width=\"32px\" height=\"37px\"> Bus<\/h4>\n<p>At the airpot exit, there is bus company operating every hour or every hour and a half, which takes you the very centre of San Sebastian.<\/p>\n<p>The buses belong to Ekialdebus company and make direct routes between Fuenterrab\u00eda and San Sebastian. It heads to San Sebastian driving along the motorway and arriving there in 30 minutes. This is a good option if you are not carrying heavy bags, however, you must take into account you will still have to get to the location of your hotel.
