Like Monte Igueldo, it offers spectacular views over the city. Why not make the trip on foot? In just 20 minutes you\u2019ll reach the summit, where you can see La Mota Castle and the English cemetery.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_301\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-301\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-301 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sansebastian.travel\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/04\/New-Promenade-150x94.jpg\" alt=\"New Promenade\" width=\"150\" height=\"94\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-301\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New Promenade<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a title=\"New Promenade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sansebastian.travel\/en\/the-new-promenade\/\">New promenade<\/a> (Paseo Nuevo): From Monte Urgull drop down onto Paseo Nuevo, a scenic seaside promenade famous for the breaking waves which batter it at high tide, providing a perfect opportunity for many photographers. Recent renovations have successfully combined the ancient with the modern, allowing them to exist side by side in perfect harmony. After being left as a derelict plot for several years, the Kursaal was built, attracting considerable controversy for its extremely modern design. The building in question, consisting of two glass-covered cubes, is well worth seeing. Surfers flock here from all over the world to catch the city\u2019s best waves. It\u2019s a very large beach attracting all types of visitors, but is especially popular with the younger crowd. Built in 1912, it has staged some of San Sebastian\u2019s most important plays and events. Renovations began in 2001 but weren\u2019t completed until 2007 due to funding problems and internal conflicts. Despite delays, the theatre reopened, kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_694\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-694\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-694 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sansebastian.travel\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/05\/Guipuzcoa-Square-150x94.jpg\" alt=\"Guipuzcoa Square\" width=\"150\" height=\"94\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-694\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Guipuzcoa Square<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Guipuzcoa square: This square is better known as the \u2018Plaza de los Patos\u2019 (duck square) due to its duck pond which holds fond childhood memories for any San Sebastian local. It\u2019s a charming square and well worth seeing.<\/p>\n<p>These are just a few suggestions of how to spend your second day in the city.
