Zumaia, Zarautz and Getaria Tour

Zumaia, Zarautz & Getaria Day Trip

If you are looking for an excursion along the coast of Guipuzcoa, this is definitely the best you can do. You will visit the coastal towns of Zarauz, Zumaia and Guetaria in a tour of about 4 hours.

Zarauz, Guetaria and Zumaia Tour Itinerary

The tour starts at 09:00 in the morning, leaving the bus from Bengoetxea street in San Sebastian. After about 30 minutes of travel, the first stop will not be any of the cities mentioned, but at the viewpoint of Mount Talaimend, from where you can see a beautiful panoramic view of all Zarazuz (or Zarautz in euskera).

From the viewpoint we will go down directly to Zarauz to walk through its streets and the beach promenade, where it is common to see people surfing, as it is one of the best beaches in the area to do this sport.

Afterwards we will board the bus to go to Guetaria, which is a short distance from Zarauz and where we will make our next stop at the beach of Malkorbe. Guetaria is the birthplace of the designer Balenciada, where he has a museum with the same name, which you can see from the outside. After a short walk around the area, we will get back on the bus on our way to Zumaia.

Our stop in Zumaia will be the beach of San Telmo, one of the best places to walk and see the famous Flysch, located in a unique geological environment of great beauty and that everyone’s attention. In this area we will also see the famous hermitage that appears in the movie 8 Apellidos Vascos.

Finally, after visiting Zarauz, Guetaria and Zumaia, we will return to San Sebastian to finish the excursion.
